2 Major ways to NYS Licensure § 1: Being Grandfathered based upon past both experience and testing § 2: Meeting the Education and Testing and Experience required by the state What does this mean to the average potential individual who truly wants to enter the field?

Grandfathering in NY State § If you can prove 100 Inspections and pass the NYS exam or the NACHI exam prior to 12 -31 (Inspections must have been completed over a prior 24 month period) § If you can prove 250 Inspections over a 36 month period, no test is required. § NYS refers to this as GRANDPARENTING not grandfathering (not wanting to refer to gender in the actual term)

Education and Mentoring § For New Individuals entering the field § 4 modules of education = 100 hrs § Module 5 is 40 hours of supervised inspections under the supervision of the school or under a Licensed Inspectors supervision § Attendance is mandatory and you must pass each final exam as ell (70% or greater) § Call The State at 518 -474 -4429 to verify school approval status!
