The Waran process flow, 28 steps and 9 parties involved: (the patient, reception desk, lab, doctors – several different, asst. nurses – several different, administrator, the mail service, the postman, electronic communication/the computer system) Pt goes to the MC Result is registered Assistant nurse writes MAILED under each booking Pt takes a Waran queue number Result put in doctor's attestation tray Pt pays and registers at reception Doctor assesses , prescribes and documents A new referral is issued by the assistant nurse Assistant nurse makes a note in the journal Pt takes a queue number for the lab Assistant nurse consults the Waran calendar Administrator checks with asst. nurse that the day's pts are finished Pt waits for the lab Assistant nurse prints the prescription PT sample is taken Assistant nurse schedules a new appointment Administrator gets envelopes Administrator stamps the envelopes Reagents must be preheated Assistant nurse puts the prescription in an envelope + possibly calls patient Result is recorded Sample is added The envelope is marked with “Apost” (next day delivery) Assistant nurse checks the number of envelopes against the number of pts Assistant nurse places the letters with the outgoing mail Administrator posts the letters mail processing Postman delivers to pt Doctor assesses, prescribes and domuments Doctor schedules a new appointment Doctor gives prescription and new appointment to pt who goes home becomes 9 steps and 4 parties involved: (the patient, reception desk, lab, doctor – only one) Pt goes to the MC Pt takes a Waran queue number Pt pays and registers at reception Pt goes to the designated waiting area PT sample is taken Result is registered and given to the doctor
