PNG National Metrology Infrastructure v PNG pre independence had a Weights and Measures Act

PNG National Metrology Infrastructure v PNG pre independence had a Weights and Measures Act with subsequent Regulations which essentially took care of the fundamental Legal Metrology matters. v The other now clearly identified areas apart from the traditional Weights and Measures like in health, environment and safety since independence were parked under different government agencies. v In 1993, NISIT was established, however, the above situation still remains. v Respective organizations have not been working together as a system to at least effect this.
