APE meeting 10/18/11 • Timesheets: Try to track accurately – APE management (no-project meetings): 7751601 – APE Standard Service (computers, software, lab supplies, safety training): 7751603 – APE U/G: significant infrastructure upgrades (major lab instruments, new data acquisition systems) 7751609 – APE UDT (Undistributed time): Only if you have nothing useful to do (none of us should be using this): 7751602 – Jim Turner’s Dump / FEE stuff – charge our labor to 7720214, other stuff to specific accounts – For PD shifts, use 7723301 global controls (I think – still under discussion). • Apes charge $150/hour. Keep in mind when comparing purchases and labor

Other Items • Performance reviews – Will need to normalize reviews to some mean and standard deviation (exact values under discussion) – I will fill out the individual categories with absolute numbers, then adjust the final result mathematically to get the required averages. – APEs are substantially above average, so adjustments will be for lower numbers. – Tell me what can be done to improve things (some of you already have). • Lab Equipment: what to have here, what to have at PEP? • New hire to replace Nate – few applicants. • Project database: Use Share. Point (expanded? ). Something else? Need some way to track who is doing what. • Safety Training: Thank you for keeping up to date.
