These funding levels are expressed in terms of a spread to Libor. § Recent trends in Volatility will impact how a trader considers risk managing his positions. For example, if Volatility is increasing because of increasing market uncertainty he may choose to input a higher Volatility figure than the current market to provide some protection as he anticipates difficulty in hedging if he provides a bid, or if he wants to be extra competitive if he is long and trying to sell. § The general level of inventory of callables on the collective balance sheets of industry participants. This can be inferred by an individual dealer’s ability to readily sell or buy callable securities and is affected by the behavior of issuers and investors.
