Tag Line • My project is all about Anxiety and how it can affect us all in different ways. The main question being asked is ‘’What is Anxiety? ’’, since it can come in so many forms, I want to try and conclude the issue in a film. • I want my project to represent Anxiety in a different way and show what happens to people when all becomes too much. This will be presented in a very visual short film. • I also want my project to show that they are not the only ones feeling what they’re feeling and that there is help if they need it. • The main argument or conflict in this project is none. There is no point I am trying to prove nor is there a conflict I am addressing. My project is a gentle and almost an educational project as well as something on the artistic spectrum as I want my video to be very visually pleasing. • I want to simply present the issues and struggles surrounding Anxiety and shine light on the issue of how young people suffer and deal with it.
Target Audience T arget • Who is my project for? My project is for young people, specifically within the 15 -18 age range, who have suffered from or do currently suffer with Anxiety. I have decided this because I can relate to a younger audience and hopefully make the content material more realistic for them. • Give a convincing answer as to why my Target Audience would be interested in my project. Essentially, young people who suffer from Anxiety may feel like they can’t talk to anyone so producing content that is related to Anxiety can be a helpful source for them. Also, my content will be very visual and easy to take in. Being young and having experienced Anxiety can mean I understand what young minds go though and the pressures of young people too,
Target Audience – Demographics and Numbers… These statistics back up my Target Audience. For example, ‘’ 75% of mental illness starts before a child reaches their 18 th Birthday’’.
Synopsis ? ? ? • Brief overview As I have mentioned previously, and to briefly sum up my project, it is about the issues of Anxiety within the youth of today, which will be presented visually through a cinematic video. With it being such a common issue, I want my project to reach out to a lot of young people, ranging from 15 -18. My Target Audience should expect to see a short film that visually portrays what Anxiety feels like as well as seeing content that can help them, such as helpline numbers. Example; Maddy Curtis explores the issues surrounding Anxiety and follows the experience of the youth and how their lives are impacted by this horrible feeling. Her findings are presented through an artistic and visual video that covers a serious issue in a light and approachable way.
Treatment Questions - what – who - where - how • What My project is in the form of a video and will answer the question of, ‘’What is Anxiety’’. The video will be non-dialogue and will tell the story and answer the question through heavy visuals, scenery and smooth cinematic shots. • Who Either my self or an actor will be in the film. Either way it will only focus on one person and one person only. My video will be very centred and focused on the issue of Anxiety. • Where My project will most likely be filmed in different locations, such as my house, the woods, the city etc. As well as finding locations for scenic shots too.
Key Question • What are the issues I want my viewer to think about? Essentially, I want my viewers to just have something they can understand relate to as well as possibly think to them selves, ‘’Others understand how I feel’’ or ‘’I’m not alone’’, or ‘’Should I get help’’ etc. I want them to think about them selves. Also, I want other people to become educated and spot the signs of Anxiety. This could lead them to ask them the questions, ‘’Maybe I should be more understanding’’. Etc.
Where will you film ? My filming will take place in a variety of locations as I want to use mixed scenery. Some examples of where I will film include the following; • My house – The woods – Cities – fields etc. What will the film look like? I want and am planning for my video to be very visually pleasing. I want to use smoke pellets, fairly lights and other features to portray a ray of mixed feelings and emotions too. This will hopefully hook the viewer and make up for the non-dialogue style. How will it be shot? I will shoot my video all on one camera with the use of additional equipment like tripods, stabilisers and lighting too. It will be shot in detail and I will take my time with it to ensure it is of good quality too.
Who is in the film – more information • My film will solely consist of one person or one actor. This is to keep it simple and individual too as I want to show the affects of Anxiety on someone. • Having one actor will also make it easier for me to film and construct as all I have to worry about is how I present the one person in the film. • I will also be the only one filling all the additional roles too. I will film, direct, edit etc. These roles are all for me to complete.
How will I put it together • Style of video My video will be a cinematic and detailed film that will be somewhat artistic in its appearance as well as and educational video too. I have some inspirations for my video and the style of it too. A film-maker called Mikey Murphy is one of my inspirations for this video. • How will it be written? There isn’t a script for my video as there is no speech. However, I will produce a detailed storyboard in order to structure my actual video and see it come together. My video is based on a serious issue that many suffer with, however, I want to present it in an approachable and artistic way to make it easier to talk about. I will use the ‘’Artsy’’ shots to piece this type of video together. FILMMAKING
