ANSI International Policy Committee Mission Develop and maintain ANSI’s international strategies and goals for standards and conformity assessment to achieve the following objectives: Ø Foster global trade; Ø Meet societal needs related to security, safety, health, and the environment; Ø Promote fair play and equitable national treatment within global standardization infrastructures; Ø Promote effective leadership and technical expertise in international and regional organizations; Ø Protect intellectual property rights; Ø Enhance global competitiveness of U. ANSI IPC Key Strategies n Encourage international adoption of US sector supported standards or new work item proposals to facilitate trade in goods and delivery of services in the manner preferred by the business sectors involved. n Actively promote the consistent worldwide application of internationally recognized principles in the development of standards. n Promote continuous improvement in the efficiency and cost effectiveness of standards development and conformity assessment processes around the world, including coordination on emerging and converging technologies. n Encourage participation and diversity to improve the balance of stakeholder interests in national, regional and international standards and conformity assessment activities. S. leaders in both ISO and IEC at the technical level on key issues and related strategies and tactics. n To hear from ISO, IEC and ANSI Federation leaders and share with them your perspectives and concerns; n To have in-depth presentations and discussions on key issues and common concerns and to share best practices and tactics that may lead to overall improvement of U. S. performance in ISO and IEC; n To identify appropriate actions that may assist in the implementation of the U. S. National Standards Strategy; n To network with and learn from fellow U.
