Who does what Oxfordshire has six main councils - one county council, four district

Who does what Oxfordshire has six main councils - one county council, four district councils and a city council. There also more than 300 parishes and town councils, mainly outside Oxford city. Each council provides different services and has its own set of councillors to represent residents. On 4 May, you’ll be voting to choose your county councillor to represent you. District councillors represent residents in areas called wards. District council services include: • Environmental health • Housing • Leisure and recreation • Planning applications • Waste collection. County councillors represent larger areas called divisions. County council services include: • Children’s services • Support for schools • Fire and Rescue • Libraries and museums • Roads • Social care for older people and disabled adults • Community transport • Trading standards • Countryside services • Waste disposal

Harwell Traffic: Sep 2016 when Blenheim Hill closed • • Peak movement Average movement 24/7 Average day movement (7 am-7 pm) Average night movement (0 am-6 am) • Traffic is more bi-directional than expected. – Morning % of traffic entering the village – Evening % of traffic leaving the village • Overall, and in peak hours 400 vehicles/hour 200 vehicles/hour. 333 vehicles/hour 42% GR, 33% WR 33% GR, 40% WR – two thirds of traffic uses Wantage Rd, and – just over one third uses Grove Rd. – Higher than expected usage of Grove Rd. might be because of people trying to get to Didcot.

Harwell Recreation Ground Facilities • Feasibility Study for the provision of support facilities at the Harwell Rec. • Scope: – All current users of the pavilion and the Rec. – Any needs of village clubs, not met elsewhere, that would benefit from being located at the Rec. (e. g. Scouts) – Consider both upgrade and replacement options • Conclusion – Offer the pavilion to the scouts • But – Need to ensure ground staff have adequate facilities
