Side Community Church exists to be a sanctuary or a place of refuge for anyone to be accepted and nurtured to wholeness in Jesus. Volunteer opportunities are given to all who may wish to serve in various capacities. 2. It is a Mission Group of the Seventh-day Adventist Church through the Allegheny East Conference. There were times when he wanted to quit, and accept offers to join big bands that offered lots of fame and fortune. Then there were internal hurts, and criticism too that he had to battle. But the still small voice within kept telling him…hang in there! Daya served the Church and his responsibilities with the music ministries with utmost sincerity. He became part of the Church choir and sang faithfully for a long period. Occasionally, he began to travel with the Senior Pastor to sing for many events. Soon he lead AIM teams and there began the solo travel journey. A couple of years later, though it was against his strength but the Lord laid on his heart to record songs in Hindi. He did not have the funds but the Lord provided funds and strength miraculously to complete his first solo album “Choolein”. Thousands across the world were blessed. It was this encouragement and strength which enabled him to move ahead with his second album “Lamhey. ” “It is easy to become a star, but I would love to serve because I have received this gift not to be served but to serve” Daya says. Today, Daya travels extensively across the country and to foreign lands singing and testifying about the love of God. Thousands are being blessed through his ministry. Pr. Though he’s originally from south India, his parents moved base to West Bengal before he was born. As a family of five they would attend the vernacular section of the Assembly Of God Church, Calcutta. It was here, that Daya got his education and also came under the ministries of the church. At the age of seventeen, Daya sang his first solo at the church, initially reluctant but then there was no way he could refuse his youth pastor and his music minister…and thus began the journey. Currently he is the Allegheny East Conference‘s region wide Revival Evangelist while also serving as the Senior Pastor of Fourth Street Friendship SDA Church (FSFSDA. ORG) which is the mentor church of Hope. Side Community Mission. We are also pleased to welcome Elder Michael Cox and his musically gifted wife Zirrah Cox.
