Annexure-I BHARAT SANCHAR NIGAM LIMITED RAJASTHAN TELECOM CIRCLE Transmission plan for IP Connectivity of Node-B to RNC
Present Node-b connectivity Present 3 G network is designed with Node-B and RNC. The Hub - Sub Hub – Node B architecture is being adopted. At each Node-B 3 E 1 are considered for the design. › HUB – Fiber is available at these location. › SUB HUB – Fiber is available at these location. › Node B – Node B 3 E 1 Connectivity is on OFC/MW/HDSL.

Proposed Node-b connectivity › RNC will be connected to NIB network via one optical GE Port. A single aggregated connectivity for all the nodes will be provided. The complete aggregation of the all the Node B will be done in NIB network. › All the Node-B will be connected to NIB network in star topology. › Node-B which will not be connected in IP network. Will be connected via Chanalized STM.
Types of connectivity › New connectivity is divided into Six types › Type 1 : Node. B --- Tier 2 – RNC › Type 2 : Node. B --- FTTH– Tier 2 – RNC › Type 3 : Node. B --- CPE 8 – Tier 2 – RNC › Type 4 : Node. B --- CPE 8 – FTTH – Tier 2 – RNC › Type 5 : Node. B --- 3 E 1 – Chanalized STM – RNC › Type 6 : Node B FE port --- FE to 4 E 1/8 E 1/16 E 1 convertor –- E 1 over MW/OFC---- 4 E 1/8 E 1/16 E 1 to FE convertor-----FTTH/Tier 2 – RNC
Type 1 Connectivity › In this connectivity Node B will be directly connected to tier 2 network of the NIB which in turn will be connected to RNC. Type 2 Connectivity › For this type the connectivity will made using FTTH and tier 2 of the NIB › For the southbound connectivity FTTH uses DWDM on single fiber. So ONT will be required which will provide four FE ports. ONT and its installation is to be arranged by BSNL. No other equipment will be connected to this ONT to provide full bandwidth to Node. B. Type 3 Connectivity › Type 3 connectivity is defined as Node. B --- CPE 8 – Tier 2 › At present CPE 8 are having the SFP with 1310 nm while SFP at tier 2 are having 1550 nm. So it is required to change the SFP in CPE 8. Type 4 connectivity › Type 4 connectivity is defined as Node. B --- CPE 8 – FTTH – Tier 2 – RNC › For the southbound connectivity FTTH uses DWDM on single fiber. So ONT will be required which will provide four FE ports. ONT and its installation is to be arranged by BSNL. No other equipment will be connected to this ONT to provide full bandwidth to Node. B. Type 5 connectivity › Type 5 connectivity is defined as Node. B --- 3 E 1 – Channelised STM– RNC › This connectivity will be used for remaining Node. Bs i. e. Node. B on M/W and HDSL These Node B will be connected via chanalised STM. › Three E 1 from 15 Node. B will be multiplexed in to one chanalized STM by the BSNL. This STM will be connected to RNC TX equip STM 1 Node B 3 E 1
Type 6 connectivity › Type 6 connectivity is defined as Node B FE port --- FE to 4 E 1/8 E 1/16 E 1 convertor – E 1 over MW/OFC---- 4 E 1/8 E 1/16 E 1 to FE convertor----- FTTH/Tier 2 – RNC FE Port (electrical) FTTH/ Tier 2 4 E 1/8 E 1/ 16 E 1 to FE convertor 4 E 1/ 8 E 1/ TX equip MW/OFC 4 E 1/ 8 E 1/ 16 E 1 FE to 4 E 1/ 8 E 1/ 16 E 1 convertor Node B 16 E 1 RNC Optical Port
