Why is my Country Improving • Angola has began to hit a slump in its economy mainly because the Civil War. • Most of the country’s infrastructure is still damaged and underdeveloped from the 27 year long civil war. • However the country has taken loans to rebuild their infrastructure, Because of this country is definitely improving.

Improving • Angola high growth rate in recent years was driven by high international prices for its oil. Angola has become a member of OPEC in late 2009 was assigned a production quota of 1. 9 million barrels a day. Oil production and its supporting activities contribute about 85% of GDP. Diamond exports contribute to additional 5%. • Angola makes a lot of money exporting oil and this is what causes them to improve their infrastructure after the civil war.

Example of Interdependence • The country’s government has used billions of dollars in credit lines from China, Brazil, Portugal, Germany, Spain, and the EU in order to rebuild their infrastructure, in order for these countries to buy oil from them. • The more countries that buys oil from Angola is how Angola makes a lot of money. • This is why education and literacy rate has gone up in this country because of its oil consumption.

Education • Although education has improved in the country. They lack many school buildings and teachers • Kids from ages 7 to 14 are the ones that attend school the most. It is even reported that more boys attend school than girls.
