Anglistics Study Programme Buvljak Stranac koji ne ode na buvlju pijacu nikad nece priznati ni shvatiti sustinu grada u kome se zatekao. Vise sam naucio lunjajuci po buvljim pijacama nego po muzejima I oko spomenika. Za mene je jos uvek rimska buvlja pijaca na Porteze simbol italijanskog neorealizma. (Kradljivci bickla” De Sika), a londonski Portobelo roud na kome je Kerol Rid snimao Jare za dve pare, velicanstvnea slika duge, lagane propasti Britanske imperije. Na pariskom marche aux pus na Klinjakuru slusao sam tamnopute gitariste iz plemena Manouche, potomke Djanga Rajnharta, kako sviraju njegove “Oblake”. Na njuroskom buvljaku u Delansi stritu u juznom delu Menhetna gura se, gamize I puzi sve sto je odbacio srecni Vavilon.

Anglistics Study Programme Beograd se od svih ovih gradova razlikuje po tome sto njegove buvlje pijace nemaju drugu tradicju. Tipicna beogradska buvlja pijaca je obicno u pocetku pusta ledina, delimicno asfaltirana, na koju kao da su s neba sleteli: jedan skripavi ringispil, jedno streliste, redovi tezgi I silan svet, za koje ovo mesto nikada nije pusta artisticka igra. Ti se najsiromasniji odevaju I obuvaju, probaju zimske kapute nepoznatih pokojnika, kupuju delove za svoja stara kola, namestaj sto danima kisne nepokriven, kaveze zap tice: tu se jede I pije, kuva kukuruz I peku kobasice, prodaju znacke, marke, stari novac, naocare bez stakla, telefon bez slusalice, tranzistori, nozevi, ikone, makete I raznorazni alati…Za mnoge, Buvljak je seoski praznik – vasar sirotinje I seljacke tuge! Za druge, tu se zavrsavaju opasne veze kontrabande, ciji putevi vode u rumunska sela I madjarske pustare, italijanske magazine I solunske magaze. Buvljak to je popodnevni koktel za one koji nikad ne pozivaju na koktel.
