Anglistics Study Programme CONTEMPORARY ENGLISH LANGUAGE USAGE Aims: To improve students’ reading skills (scanning, skimming, intensive, inferring) To develop various reading strategies To motivate students to use contemporary language, as found in magazines and media, to enhance their language competence To enrich students’ vocabulary (related to various, both academic and everyday topics) To encourage students to use vocabulary in meaningful sentences and contexts
