Timeline of important events • 3100 BC: The Egyptian civilization began when King Narmer founded the first Egyptian dynasty • 2950 BC/ 2950 -2575: The first Egyptian pyramid was built- the Step Pyramid at Saqqara for King Zoser who was one of the king in the 3 rd Dynasty • 30 BC: Egypt becomes a province of the Roman Empire
Where is Egypt?
Artifact • The artifact that we made is The Pyramids of Giza, it is important because that is the most famous architecture when you remind people of Ancient Egypt and it is also The Pharaoh’s tombs. The purpose is we want more people to know a lot more about Egypt and famous architecture here.
Economic system • Technology: The Egyptians invented and used many simple machines, such as ramp and lever to aid construction processes. They also played an important role in developing technology including ships and lighthouses • Jobs: Men of Ancient Egypt held these types of jobs: bakers, scribes, priests, nobleman, soldiers, farmers and merchants. • Money: The Egyptians used coins forms of silver and gold currency • Transportation: The Egyptians used the Nile for transportation
Belief System • Egyptians’ religions are Muslim, Christians and Islam. Egyptians’ interaction with many deities who were believed to be present in, and in control of, the forces of nature
Political System • The Ancient Egyptian Government was rules first and foremost by the Pharaoh. The Pharaoh was the supreme leader not only of the government, but also of the religion. • How rulers were chosen: They inherited it.
Social System • Class System: - The Pharaoh and those associated with divinity were at the top - Servants and slaves made up the bottom. The Egyptians also elevated some human beings to gods. • Role of men, women & children: - Men were to inherit their fathers job, help provide for their families and take care of their parents at old age - Women were taught to care for the home and families. • Family life: - Women attend markets and are employed in trade, while men stay at home and do the weaving
Art and Leisure • Art style: Carved on rocks to tell their life story, painting, sculpture, architecture • Leisure activities: Hunting, fishing, water sports, parties, child’s play, …
