History & Attribution: • What is known at this time: There is NO other online course such as this. Research reveals there a few courses such as this at various universities and colleges that teach courses similar to this “on-ground” (in the classroom). Some of those courses are also called Anatomy of a Murder, or titles such as Sociology of Murder, and/or the Study of Murder. • Developing this course was a significant challenge when an instructor does not meet “face to face” with his/her students. It is my hope and desire that this course meets the expectations of the Moorpark College online students. • This Online Course was made possible with the advice and counsel of retired Homicide Detectives Matt Harville, Ventura Police, Joel Price, LAPD Homicide, and Sergeant Tim Lumas, Oxnard Police Department, and Orange County Coroner’s Investigator Mitch Sigal.
The subject of this course is MURDER. Murder is a crime that can be brutal, sadistic and upsetting. You will be exposed to violent, graphic, or sexuallyexplicit descriptions of crime scenes, this material is NOT presented for shock value or entertainment purposes.
