Landscaping / Yard Care Ø 60% currently employ a natural yard care program or plan to in ’ 08 Ø Another 30% plan to conduct yard care program in the long term Photo: King County

Forest and Riparian Cover l l 72% promote forest cover retention & riparian buffer protection >75% hold volunteer events, such as tree plantings & other restoration activities All but one has updated CAO since 2003 All report tree protection ordinances
Water Conservation l l l 67% have programs ~60% either actively promote groundwater protection, or plan to in the future Over half have designated Critical Acquifer Recharge Areas
Shoreline Programs Ø Updating SMP l 11 will update by 2009; 4 by 2011 Ø Outreach shoreline maintenance & alternatives to bulkheads l Only 3 currently have, 5 plan w/in 3 years, 4 in long term
