We come from a rural, agricultural area called Wazapur in Raigad District, sixty kilometers away from Mumbai India. - Although we have come a long way from where we started, we believe that we have the confidence and skills to achieve much more.

An initiative of TCS Maitree to empower the Women of Waze. - Started in 2007 with group of 15 women. - Started training in stitching and embroidery and developing other related skills to make textile products. - In 2008, Associated Women’s India Trust for the training and getting them into income generation mode. - Association with Eco Corner through TCS Maitree volunteers to make products to them - Started making Jute products for TCS Maitree events and activities across all locations in India. Our Impetus. .

Spreading our wings… - The long term objective was to make us financially independent. - We embarked on our artistic journey of creating handicraft products like jute bags. - It was now time to go a step ahead, and establish ourselves in a place which could convert our art into much needed income. That saw the birth of ‘Gram Vikas Abhiyaan Kendra’ established by TCS Maitree.

We have been utilizing our creative capabilities to make beautiful, environment-friendly bags of Jute, denim, silk, cotton and even paper! but our enthusiasm doesn’t stop there. We are extending our products to include other household items like cushion covers, curtains, wall hangings and aprons!
