AMY- First tests in Lecce Astro. Particle Lab Signal Generator R&S SMB 100 A 9 k. Hz to 3. 2 GHz The Signal Generator is optioned with Pulse Modulator and Generator, that allows to pulse inside a gate signal (Δt min = 10 ns) A simple setup just to start… Power Detector ZX 47 -60 -S+ containing AD 8318 From Data Sheet Rise Time 400 nsec / Fall Time 10 nsec (from -60 d. Power Detector(ZX 47 -60 -S+) Time response INPUT Signal • Signal Pulse Width from 10 nsec to 200 nsec • 2 different frequencies (1. 7 GHz and 2. 6 GHz) • 2 different signal amplitude (-40 d. Bm and -60 d. Bm) OUTPUT Signal ( V measure on the scope) The power detector seems fully efficient only for signals having a pulse > 100 nsec A similar temporal behaviour on rise/fall. Bm The power detector is sensitive for signal levels > -65 d. Bm. In agreement with datasheet (from -60 d. Bm to +5 d. • • Carlo has realized a small antenna for feeding the LNB. Small acquisition set-up (eventually for acquiring directly the LNB (around 1 - 3 GHz). • Investigating other Power Detectors and/or different evaluation boards. • 2 more from AD as the one we have in order to modify the board • Power Detector from Maxim with larger dynamic range (home made evaluation board) • Trying to understand the time response • FADC-> requested funding (answer 11 March) • More LNBF on different bands (C, Ku).
