MS. TARA A. LAMBERT United States Coast Guard Finance Center Ms. Tara Lambert serves in the role of Supervisory Accountant, Section Chief for Miscellaneous Payables and most recently led the Leadership Diversity Advisory Council (LDAC) at the United States Coast Guard Finance Center in Chesapeake, VA. She has a Masters of Science in Accounting from Liberty University, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Old Dominion University, and is a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM). She has over 15 years of experience in the field of accounting and financial management; performing in various capacities such as Assistant Controller, Mentor, Senior Accountant, and Consultant for nationally known companies such as The New York Times, Robert Half and Enterprise Rent-A-Car. But in March of 2008, she was led back to her first “love” career-wise; governmental accounting, considering she started as a student level Budget Clerk for the United States Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) in 2002. Ms. Lambert is a member of Sigma Beta Delta Business Honor Society, Young Government Leaders, the American Society of Military Comptrollers and is the President-Elect of the Virginia Peninsula Chapter of AGA (Association of Government Accountants). She is also the Founder and former President of the local Coastmasters chapter of Toastmasters International; an organization focused on developing communication and leadership skills. Outside of her professional interests, she travels widely, is an active member of Elim Church of Hampton Roads in Portsmouth, VA and has successfully completed a Masters of Arts in Theology.
