Syllabus * Textbook: Online: United States History and Geography n Overview: American History is a required course that presents some of the major events that have affected our people, our country and our world. Through a variety of resources and activities we will learn about the factors that have shaped our country and our people. n Goal: My goal for you is that you will develop an awareness of the relevancy history in all our lives and to understand that we affect the future through our ability to THINK critically, READ deeply and WRITE logically about the events that are part of our world today.

Grading n n n Students grades will be based on tests, quizzes, daily work, oral work, participation, projects and activities. A grade of 70 percent is required to be considered passing. The school’s grading scale will be used.

Classroom Requirements n n n n Work must be done neatly and legibly to be accepted and to an acceptable level. Computers will be used and at times computers will be closed. Computers or paper for notes Students are expected to sit up in class. Treat each other with respect. Other guidelines will be established on an as needed basis. “Redoing” work/tests—will require additional study. Under 60 percent required to retake.
