PURPOSE • Provide an Overview of Quartermaster Center and School (QMC&S) Food Service Training

PURPOSE • Provide an Overview of Quartermaster Center and School (QMC&S) Food Service Training and Operations. • Present the roles and responsibilities, programs, projects, and services by AMEDD personnel assigned to the QMC&S. • Brief the BRAC transformation of the Army Center of Excellence, Subsistence.

THE QUARTERMASTER CENTER & SCHOOL “Supporting Victory” • Fort Lee is Home of the Quartermaster Corps • The 23 d BDE: 3 -Training Battalions, 5 -Training Departments (ACES, AD-FS, LTD, MA, PWD) • Advanced Individual Training Including Nine Military Occupational Specialties • Quartermaster NCOES and OES Courses • Staff Judge Advocate Officer Basic and Advance Courses • A Marine Corps Detachment • Daily Strength Averages over 4, 500 Warriors

The Quartermaster Center and School (QMC&S) is a subordinate command of the United States

The Quartermaster Center and School (QMC&S) is a subordinate command of the United States Army Combined Arms Support Command. The QMC&S trains Soldiers, civilians, and members of other Services and Nations in QM skills and functions. In addition to training, the QMC&S has command of the 23 d Quartermaster Brigade and serves as a proponent on all QM matters. The QMC&S is located at Fort Lee, Virginia.

ACES MISSION • Provide leadership, education and training, and management of the Army Food

ACES MISSION • Provide leadership, education and training, and management of the Army Food Program. • Prepare Soldiers, civilians, and members of other services/countries in Army subsistence and food service operations for wartime, garrison, and field training success. • Develop Army subsistence and food service concepts, doctrine, systems, force structure, and material requirements for wartime, garrison, and field training for sustaining combat ready forces operating in both a joint and a combined environment to meet worldwide commitments.

ESO & VET • Serve as principal Food Safety and Environmental Health advisors to

ESO & VET • Serve as principal Food Safety and Environmental Health advisors to the Quartermaster General, and the Director, ACES. • Supports warrior logisticians by managing Army Food Program food safety and food defense issues. • Primary instructor of Force Health Protection and Food Safety for all Quartermaster Officer courses. • Liaison with MEDCOM, VETCOM, AMEDDC&S, OTSG, CHPPM, Natick Research, Development & Engineering Center, and various other agencies regarding Army subsistence. • Technical advisor for the development of food safety and food defense strategies, procedures, and standards directly improving Army Food Program doctrine. • Foodborne illness outbreaks investigation assistance to Major Army Commands. • ACES representative to the Fort Lee Command Food Service Management Board.
