MALAYSIA DENGUE DAY Walk and Clean – A Fight the Bite Walk (Nationwide Initiatives) • Participants will walk and clean as they go along the pre-planned route. • Plant little AAD flags to identify locations that need to be cleaned up by local authorities. Education Exhibition • Dengue warriors to be recruited. • Exhibition by JKN on prevention of mosquito & GSK Giant Thermometer mosquito truck to display initiatives to reduce Aedes mosquitoes. • Education on prevention and management of dengue by JKN & AAD team. allied against dengue

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING Walk & Clean • Assigned to a location • At the location, search for rubbish & water containment/trap rubbish; clean, kill and dispose as per steps below. - If you find rubbish – pick and dispose - If you find rubbish with water containment/trap, check for larva. i. If there is no larva found, pour out water and dispose rubbish. ii. if there are larva found in a disposable containers. Sprinkle larvicide (provided during briefing session in the morning), wait for 5 minutes and pour out water from the container. Then dispose the container. iii. If there is larva found in stagnant holding grounds (ie fountain, manhole, water tanks). Pour larvicide and plant Allied Against Dengue flags on ground. • Help line available : 603 -92823300 for help (there are 10 lines available). allied against dengue

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING Education & Recruitment Drive • Assigned to a location. Refer to group list that will be sent out on Monday 1 st Aug • Task will encompass - Setup of the booth (consists of 2 buntings and a table) - Help JKN to setup education booth - Detail to passer-by and educate on symptoms of dengue fever - Recruit dengue warriors – use Q&A to asses and pass a dengue kit to the warriors allied against dengue

DO’S and DONT’S Do’s: ü Check in and check out in a group X Do not leave without informing LTs/Marshalls Do’s: ü Stay in a group X Do not go to an area alone Do’s: ü Wait for JKN or PPT to clean massive rubbish ground or cleaning the drains.
