The Decision for Return to School On July 30, 2020 The AFPCS Board of Trustees and AFPCS Leadership Team decided the Return to School plan that we believe will support the health and safety of our students, staff, and families.
Kindergarten and Special Needs The Plan: Remote Learning – Beginning Tuesday, September 8 th to January 4, 2021 Possible SAFE Return to School – November 2, 2020 Kindergarten Students Special Needs Students Decision will be made and communicated Mid October 2020 Baseline i. Ready Benchmark Assessments will be conducted during the 1 st 2 weeks of school. A schedule will be forwarded Device and Curriculum material pick up – during the first 2 weeks of school Remote Learning “Boot Camp” Leadership Back to School Meeting with Parents

Technology If a device is needed: Parent will be Pick up and Sign out Student devices on the same day that your child is scheduled for benchmark testing. A schedule will be provided. Please make arrangements to pick up on the scheduled day.
Counseling and Supports Throughout the year, there will be students who receive individual and group counseling support via Microsoft Teams, Email or Classroom Dojo. These students receive counseling support on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule and meet with the school counselor or school social worker. These students will fall into the following categories: Counseling as a related service in their Individual Education Plan (IEP) Counseling as an accommodation in their 504 Plan Tier 2 or 3 Social Emotional MTSS Child Study Referral Parent/Counselor recommendation Dr. Taja Peterkin-Mclean Upper School Counselor (Gr. 4 -8) Alliance for Progress Charter School
