LEXILE LEVELS • A Lexile level is a prediction of how difficult a text

LEXILE LEVELS • A Lexile level is a prediction of how difficult a text (word frequency and sentence strength) will be for a reader to comprehend. • A student’s Lexile measure is his/her instructional reading level. • Ideally, match a reader and text to the assessed Lexile measure. For example, an appropriate level of text difficulty would be for a reader assessed at a Lexile level of 770 reading a book or magazine with a 770 L measure. www. lexile. com
