Humanitarian Grants – Matching (Formerly Standard Grants) § Matching funds between US$10, 000 and US$100, 000 § Support large scale Lions projects (equipment or construction - no operating costs) § Lions identify/develop projects § Provides local impact and community visibility 20
Humanitarian – Diabetes Grants • Prevent and reduce the impact of diabetes as a public health concern • Multi-year grants up to US$100, 000 for single districts or US$200, 000 for multiple districts • Typical projects supported: § Awareness programs § Screening activities for high-risk populations § Self-management education programs § Support groups § Training and equipment 21
Humanitarian – Lions Quest Grants More than 16 million youth have been taught positive life skills through Lions Quest • Implementation grants and expansion grants § Up to US$25, 000 for districts § Up to US$100, 000 for multidistricts § 3 to 1 match required (Lions must provide 25% of funding) § Future criteria changes planned. 22
Sight. First Grants § Focus on the major causes of blindness § Reach underserved populations § Funds sustainable projects that: § Deliver eye care services § Develop infrastructure § Train personnel and/or provide rehabilitation § No max grant limit; no match required 23

Designated Grants • Restricted funds for a particular cause • Examples of designated funds include: § Refugee assistance in Turkey - 2016 § Lions measles initiative: One Shot, One Life - ongoing 26
Leo Grants • Leos can assess, plan, and implement their own service projects • LCIF Leo Grants are nonmatching grants available to districts and multiple districts • Grant opportunities between US$2, 500 for districts and US$5, 000 for multiple districts 27
New District/Club Sharing Program Through a district sharing model, a percentage of contributions to Lions Club International Foundation are transformed into grants that fund local projects (on a district and/or club level) in alignment with the Foundation’s areas of focus. 28 • Donations must be unrestricted • $5, 000 minimum for clubs; $10, 000 minimum for districts • Donate throughout the year; funds available the next Lions year • Clubs and districts must submit an application in order to receive grant funds • Criteria is still being developed
Tips for Grant Applications § Encourage Lions to contact LCIF staff and area coordinators before applying § No funding for completed projects § Lions financial contributions and involvement required § Project must be large-scale with clearly defined objectives § Income and expense budget is required § Submit application in its entirety before deadline 29
