Teach Literacy to Middle School Students �Students enter middle school with diverse levels or reading. �They can have reading range from third to eighth grade. �Meeting the needs of these students is challenging to middle school teachers. �Teachers can teach strategic reading and stimulate thinking and wondering. �Teacher can offer students books they can read. �This Power. There are many instructional strategies that we use to ensure reading and comprehension and content literacy. Scaffolding � Identify what students know � Begin with what students can do. � Help students to be like everyone else. � Know when its time to stop. � Help students become independent when they are working a activity.
