Welcome to Alexandra Primary School • At Alexandra Primary School, we aim to impart

Welcome to Alexandra Primary School • At Alexandra Primary School, we aim to impart lasting knowledge to all our children, through an inspiring and challenging curriculum and a genuine understanding and appreciation of each child. • Our teaching is energising, purposeful and underpinned by continuous improvement, so that all children and staff are motivated to learn, share and retain knowledge to the best of their ability. • We deepen and extend learning through rich experiences, drawing on our supportive and diverse school community and the advantages of our proximity to Richmond Park, London and major sites of historic and cultural interest. • We take pride in how we do things. Our values are deeply felt, lived and celebrated. The difference this makes is tangible – our staff, parents, carers and children benefit from a positive culture of inclusion, achievement, kindness and belonging. • As children progress through the school we create opportunities for memorable academic, social and emotional learning. Together, these build the foundations of knowledge, confidence and resilience needed for success and opportunity in their lives within and beyond Alexandra Primary School. 4 Alexandra Primary School

Alexandra Inclusion Alexandra School is proud to offer a wholly inclusive education to pupils

Alexandra Inclusion Alexandra School is proud to offer a wholly inclusive education to pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. The school has an Enhanced Specialist Teaching Arrangement that supports a number of pupils with moderate and or/complex learning needs, enabling such pupils to be fully included in our mainstream school. We use our best endeavours to ensure that SEN provision is made for all its pupils who need it, including making reasonable adjustments for children with disabilities. All our staff and pupils are inspired to support a positive approach to diversity and to accept and celebrate difference, with a vision of promoting equality and opportunity for all, and respect of others. Alexandra Governing Body • We currently have 11 governors, including 4 parent governors, 1 staff governor and the headteacher. • Governors are all volunteers, they meet approximately 8 times per year and also take on ‘link’ roles, e. g. SEND, Finance. • The main functions of a Governing Body are: • Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent • Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction • Have a look at our ‘meet our governors’ page on the school website to learn more about who we are and what we do. “I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school”, Louise Groves, Chair of Governors Alexandra Primary School

Alexandra Parents Staff Association • As a parent of a child in Alexandra School

Alexandra Parents Staff Association • As a parent of a child in Alexandra School you are automatically a member of the Alexandra PSA. • Over the last 2 years we have raised over £ 20 k per academic year. All of these funds go towards funding activities and materials to complement what the school offers. This year we have spent it on enhancements to the playground, library and books. • This year the children have loved doing their sponsored bounce, movie nights and fairs, whilst the parents and teachers had fun competing at our annual quiz and comedy nights. • We would love as many people as possible to get involved and depend on parents and carers to make sure we can run great events and raise as much money as possible to help the school offer our children such a great experience. • There are lots of different ways you can get involved and you can offer as much or as little time as you have, for example for planning or running events, helping drum up support or sponsorship and also as a PSA class representative (or two/three) for each class. • Contact us: alexpsa@hotmail. co. uk “We look forward to meeting you”, Clare Mirza and Zoe van den Bosch, Chairs of PSA Alexandra Primary School
