Alexander Rodchenko 1891 - 1956 Born in St. Petersburg Russia 1910 -1914 - Studied at the Kazan School of Art then the Stroganoy Art Institute 1917 - Founded Profsoiuz (Professional Union of Art- Painters) After the Russian Revolution of 1917 he joined the Bolsheviks 1921 - Co-wrote the Constructivists Manifesto 1925 - Won four silver medals at Paris International Exhibition 1928 - He wrote a Manifesto title “Against the Synthetic Portrait, for the Snapshot” All his exhibitions were cancelled for this Manifesto
