About Canada • Canada is a very beautiful country. People from all over the world come to our country to visit our natural parks. • There are 35, 540, 085 people living in Canada. • Canada is the second largest country on planet Earth!
• Canada has two official languages: English and French. • We have two national sports: lacrosse during the summertime and hockey during the wintertime. • Before Europeans came to North America, aboriginal peoples lived there for thousands of years. • The capital city of Canada is Ottawa.
My Family • There are five of us in my family: My father, my mother, my older brother, and my younger sister.
• My father was a logger. He is now retired. • My mother is a nurse at the local hospital. • My older brother is an electrician. • My younger sister is a student attending a local middle school. • I am a university student. I study medieval history. Some day, I would like to be a teacher!
About Me • I am twenty-two years old. My birthday is on September 11 th, 1992. • I come from Vancouver, Canada. However, I was born in a small city on Vancouver Island.

My Studies • My first language is English. • My second language is German. • I am eager to learn Spanish. I hope to someday teach Spanish in a Canadian high school. • I am currently a fourth year History major at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. • I have also studied some Psychology, Economics, German, French, English Literature, and Geography.
Sports • When I was younger, I played many sports: soccer, swimming, karate, basketball, and volleyball. Now that I am older, I barely have enough time to swim once a week!
A day in the life of Mr. Mader! Monday 7: 00 am – 8: 00 am - wake up 9: 00 am – 1: 00 pm – classes 1: 30 pm – 3: 00 pm - meet with friends for lunch/coffee 3: 00 pm – 5: 00 pm – classes 5: 00 pm – 7: 00 pm – studying 7: 00 pm – 8: 00 pm – dinner 8: 00 pm – 1: 00 am – more studying… Being an adult is not as exciting as I thought it would be!
