Alexander Fleming, a British bacteriologist
The bacteriologist Alexander Fleming first was engaged in treatment of syphilis. He thought up simple (for that time) diagnosis of syphilis on a blood drop from a finger. Before blood on the analysis was taken from a vein. In 1922 by a lucky chance Fleming discovered lysozyme(лизоцим) – enzyme(фермент) which could fight against some bacteria, without damaging(не повреждая) healthy tissues(ткани).
Discovery of penicillin in 1928 which also happened accidentally became the main achievement of Alexander. His laboratory was so dirty that he went to his family and returned a month later, he found on one of the plates(пластин) with staphylococci mold mushrooms(плесневые грибы). And all the staphylococci colonies on the plate were destroyed. Thus, Fleming
Short biography Sir Alexander Fleming was born August 6, 1881, in Darvel, UK (Scotland). His father-Hugh Fleming, farmer. His mother is grace Stirling Morton, daughter of a farmer. Fleming awards and titles In 1945, three scientists. Fleming, Florey and Chenwere awarded the Nobel prize in medicine for the discovery of penicillin. Despite all the honors and awards, he continued his laboratory work, but not so well.
Alexander Fleming died on 11 March 1955 in London. In 1999, Time magazine named Fleming one of the hundred most important people of the 20 th century for his discovery of penicillin.
