When and Why ● The Albany congress was a meeting between the representatives of 7 colonies and from the iroquois on June 19, 1754 to July 11 (Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina). ● New England Colonies assembled due to the tensions of the french and Indian war in 1754 - 1762( Ended cause Treaty of Paris). The French and Indian war was a very costly war for the English colonies and in order to have future precautions against other native attacks and the French. (Benjamin is the OG)
Rise to Action Benjamin Franklin the Head of the Albany Congress played a essential role in gathering support for the Meeting and he made the most or one of the most memorable political cartoons -----> ● ● Fun fact ! - the political cartoon above was originally used in 1754 to support management of indian relations and defend against the good guys aka the french yet in 1765 it was used again to unify against the british because of the stamp act.
What were the impacts? ● The albany congress albeit failed did have a profound effect on the English Colonies as it gave them the Idea of union as they would become America in July 4, 1776( only 22 years after the albany congress).
