Childhood Alan Turing was born in London, England on June 23, 1912 and went to Sherborne School from 1926 to 1931.

Research Alan Turing worked on Quantum Mechanics, Probability, and Logic from 1931 to 1935.

Influence He was inspired by codebreaker Max Newman. He was his colleague in engineering at Cambridge and Bletchley Park.

First Serious Use of Computer In 1949, Alan Turing explained how computers could be used for much more than simple mathematics. He described a computer to be a powerful machine capable of many tasks.

Arrest Alan Turing Confessed to Homosexual acts in 1952, and was going to face charges. However, instead he was injected with female chromosome to avoid punishment for research.

Death Alan Turing Committed suicide on June 7 th, 1954. Cyanide was found in a half eaten apple by his bed where he was found dead.

Legacy Alan Turing was one of the largest contributors to computers of all time. We wouldn’t have the modern machines of our time if it wasn’t for his research.

Additional Stuff Alan Turing never married. He went to college from 1931 to 1934. He worked in Cambridge, England.
