History & Background Congress directed TSA, “[i]n consultation with air carriers, airport authorities, and others. . . [to] develop guidelines for airport design and construction to allow for maximum security enhancement. ” 49 U. S. C. § 44914. September 30, 2004: TSA Aviation Security Advisory Committee (ASAC) approved formation of the Airport Security Design Guidelines Working Group (ASDG-WG) The Working Group will formulate recommended revisions of the Airport Security Design Guidelines document for submission to ASAC. 3

Organizational Responsibilities Executive Director • Develop meeting agendas & schedule • Convene & moderate meetings • Supervise record-keeping, prepare minutes • Instruct WG members with regard to SSI • Assure WG consensus is documented. Co-Chairs 1. Assure WG addresses the items in Scope of Task 2. Assure WG members are qualified 3. Assure report accurately reflects consensus of WG Government & Industry Members – Contribute, vote Section Chiefs – Responsible for Section updates Section Teams – Contribute expertise, update Observers – Contribute expertise 4

Post Production § The final draft working group report must reflect the consensus of the working group. § The TSA internal team will edit the final draft working group report to assure consistency with TSA goals & objectives. § The TSA Office of Public Affairs (OPA) will finalize the layout, graphics, design and preparation of both the electronic & hard copy versions 8
