AHP Team Update February 2017 The AHP team at NSS has grown in the last few months with the appointment at 0. 5 WTE of Fiona Millar to work alongside Euan Mc. Comiskie. They continue their 0. 5 WTE posts in NHS Fife and NHS Lothian respectively, as well as their roles in NSS. Both are AHP Advisors and are based in the Clinical Information Leads Team in NSS. They work with teams in NSS, territorial boards and LAs, Scottish Government and other local, national and international groups to progress Scottish data and intelligence for AHPs AHP Operational Measures Workforce Digital Knowledge and Skills • Working towards a minimum dataset for Scottish AHPs • Phase 1 ran from Oct 15 – Jun 16 • Proposed dataset tested in 2 territorial boards • Showed need to clarify data definitions, improve completeness and for other boards to prepare infrastructure ahead of any roll out • Phase 2 to run from Nov 16 – Apr 18 • National workshops in Feb and Mar 17 then national (and international) consultation process • Dataset will be produced by July 17 • Will explore data from all professions including AHPs in social care from phase 1 boards as well as newly recruited boards/partnerships • Phase 2 report will also include recommendations for phase 3 which may include potential roll out • Working towards a tool that provides AHP workforce and workload reporting • Phase 1 ran from Oct 15 – Oct 16 • Created tool that gives workforce numbers against population and geography with questions to allow data to be interpreted using professional judgement • Continuing input to national group looking at next phase of work exploring a number of different options • Working to increase skills and awareness of the value of data, informatics and technology to AHP services throughout Scotland • Involves presentations at BCS HIS conference and CSP conference as well as article in COT newsletter and blogs on the AHP Scotland Blog • Poster or other presentation at the NHS Scotland event (to be confirmed) AHP Team at NSS: Euan Mc.
