Definition Agile software development - is a group of software development methodologies based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between selforganizing, cross-functional teams. Wikipedia® Agile Project - is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result, using agile values, principles and techniques derived from the Agile Manifesto.

Agile History 1950’s - Incremental software development methods are starting to be used. 1974 - E. A. Edmonds writes a paper on adaptive software development. 1990’s - Heavyweight Vs. Lightweight development methods. 2001 - The Agile Manifesto was published.

The most efficient and effective method of conveying information to and within a development team is face-to-face conversation. Working software is the primary measure of progress. Agile processes promote sustainable development. Continuous attention to technical excellence and good design enhances agility. Simplicity--the art of maximizing the amount of work not done is essential. The best architectures, requirements, and designs emerge from self-organizing teams.
