What is a Title I school? § Title I schools receive extra funding (Title I dollars) from the federal government. These dollars are used to: • identify students experiencing academic difficulties and provide assistance to help these students; • purchase additional staff, programs, materials, and/or supplies; and • conduct parent and family engagement meetings, trainings, events, and/or activities. 3

How do we meet Title 1 needs? § Virtual activities and support for students and families(Minute to Win It, Grandparents Day, Trivia with Dad, Craft with Mom and more) § Purchase of wireless headphones to ensure optimal teaching opportunities § Virtual Guest speakers from the community to widen students breadth and depth of cultural and career exposure. § Increase staff to assist with students needs(additional ESOL teacher, Ex Ed teacher, and more). 4

What are our goals for this year? § Provide more instructional materials for teachers to work virtually(subscription to Flocabulary) § Provide instructional equipment for teachers to work virtually(Ipads, updated laptops, headphones and more). § Extended Contracts for increased teacher availability(Funds to provide outside of school hours tutoring and assistance with students virtual needs). § Global Focus is to provide teachers with tools to serve our students virtually with same quality as seen in person. 5

Parent and Family Engagement Policy § A FEP is a document that identifies specific measures TMA will use to achieve student success in: § § § Welcoming all families Communication Student Success Representing every child Budget Collaboration with community. § You, as a Title I parent or family member, have the right to be involved in the development of these plans. § The school Parent and Family Engagement Policy will be shared on TMA website. School-Parent Compact § A school-parent compact is a written commitment that outlines how the entire school community – teachers, families, and students will share the responsibility for improved academic achievement. § The school-parent compact will be shared on TMA website. Data § TMA was honored as a Level 5 school, the highest honor as significant academic improvement was made from 2018/2019 to 2019/2020. § We continue to hold this status Today! § Unfortunately we did not have State Testing to compare 2019/2020 scores to this upcoming year. As a result we will use district benchmark scores to determine scholastic improvement. 8

How can I be involved? § We need you! Research has proven that family engagement in education has more impact on student achievement than any other factor. § To get involved encourage attendance § Monitor student grades and communicate with teachers regularly regarding student progress. § Attend family events and follow us on social media § Donate your time or talent to improve our school. Improving TMA inside and out can benefit everyone! We have many needs and projects available. § Attend monthly parent sessions held by Davida Ollie, parent representative. 12
