ASU - The Actuarial Services Unit Ø Self-sustaining unit created in November 2014 (part of PFACTS before February 2017) Ø Objective: increase capacity to respond to constituents’ requests for actuarial valuations in a coherent and timely manner Ø 3 TC staff dedicated to actuarial valuations (P 5, P 3, G 4) ü Administrative backstopping ü Supervise or conduct technical work ü Peer review / technical clearance Ø Supported by experts (TC and RB staff) from other SOCPRO’s unit ü Social Policy: legal experts for compliance with ILO conventions and policy recommendations ü Programming, Partnership and Knowledge Sharing
Actuarial valuation projects managed / supported by ASU Ø 34 projects since November 2014 ü 25 different EXCOLLs with 70 EXCOLL contracts ü 10 projects are now closed Ø As of March 2017 – 24 projects at various stages ü ü 16: Centralized budget 4: Decentralized budget 4: just received formal requests, PRODOCs to come 20 EXCOLLs with 49 EXCOLL contracts
