ROCK CLIMBING The sport or pastime of climbing rock faces, especially with the aid of ropes and special equipment. Rock climbing is an activity in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls. The goal is to reach the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a pre-defined route without falling. Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests a climber’s strength, endurance, agility and balance along with mental control. Snowboarding is a winter sport that involves descending a slope that is covered with snow while standing on a board attached to a rider’s feet, using a special boot set onto a mounted binding. Hiking is the activity for going for long walks in the countryside. It varies between difficulties and distances and can involve an high level of physicality. Hiking is normally physically demanding and consists of exploring natural outdoor environments and exploring the wilderness. Canoeing The Definition of Canoeing is-: -Canoeing is an activity which involves paddling a canoe with a single-bladed paddle. Most present-day canoeing is done as or as a part of a sport or recreational activity. In some parts of Europe canoeing refers to both canoeing and kayaking, with a canoe being called an Open canoe.
Adventurous Activities –National Citizen Service (NCS) What is it? -National Citizen Service (NCS) is an experience you really don't want to miss. If you're 15 to 17 years-old, this is your chance to embark on exhilarating challenges. It’s a 3 -4 week experience that helps you build your skills and confidence and the cost up to £ 50. Health & Safety - They look after their members with every respect. - They cover basic first aid. -They have environmental management in place to protect people and limits impacts.

Countryside Code-The Countryside code-. The Country Code is a standard set of guidelines for members of the public, to ensure respect and enjoyment in the countryside. consider the local community and other people enjoying the outdoors. - leave gates and property as you find them and follow paths unless wider access is available. Protect the natural environment: -Leave no trace of your visit and take your litter home. -keep dogs under effective control. -plan ahead and be prepared. -advice and local signs. The Countryside Code gives advice on how you can enjoy your visit to the countryside and also act responsibly to protect the countryside. The code explains that is important to plan ahead, stay safe, control your dog near livestock and prevent fires.
