Advanced Reading Challenge Information • • Students are encouraged to participate in the Imagine Schools Advanced Reading Challenge Students who complete 25 books from the ARC list will receive the grand prize of a $50 Barnes and Noble Gift Card and a certificate of achievement Prizes will be awarded along the way as students complete books on the list. (prize list included) Projects are due for each book read. – – – • • All portfolios are due by May 1. Students can read up to three books that are not on the ARC list. – – • • Teacher can take picture of the project or send student to Barbara Brunner to have a picture taken of the project. Students will use the pictures to create a portfolio to showcase their projects and the books they have read. Projects options are included in the ARC packet. These books must be approved by the teacher or ARC chair. Books chosen should be of the same caliber as those on the ARC list. The ARC Packet includes a signature page which must be signed by the student and the parent. Students must be participating in the ARC in order to participate in the Book Competition. .

Advanced Reading Challenge Book Competition Information • Books for the ARC Book Competition will be taken from the ARC reading lists and books read in the classroom. • Competitions will be held in May. • There will be three rounds of competition. • Classroom round – which will determine the four person team and one alternate that will move on to round two • Grade level round – teams from each classroom will compete with each other to determine the team to represent the grade level in the final round. • Ultimate round – One team per grade will compete against other teams from other grades. For grades 5 th and up are included • Third//fourth grade list will be available soon • Possible questions for the competition will be provided two weeks prior to the competition.
