What are they? Advanced Placement Exams (AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE) are two different

What are they? Advanced Placement Exams (AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE) are two different ways to earn college credit while in high school.

Why is this important? Why would someone sign up to take the AP Exam

Why is this important? Why would someone sign up to take the AP Exam or DE? ▪ Build study skills ▪ Enhance your college resume ▪ College classes are taught in a smaller environment ▪ Length of time to complete college may be shortened. ▪ Obtain a minor or double major at the college or university. ▪ Cost savings

If the course is listed as both should I enroll in both? ▪ YES

If the course is listed as both should I enroll in both? ▪ YES of course it is always a good idea to do both. ▪ If your AP Score does not qualify you, your dual enrollment will (“C” or better). ▪ If your AP Score qualifies you, you might be able to apply the AP to the required course and the DE class to an elective. BUT…Depends on the College. Do your research.

Click on “Apply for Admission Link” (Follow steps on Enrollment form) 3. Submit Identification (AZ Driver’s license, permit, state ID or US Passport then high school ID AND birth certificate). 4. Take Placement Test (Accuplacer at college). Contact testing center. 5. Turn in signed DE form. Check with teacher for due date 6. Pay tuition and fees. ▪ Sign up by July 31 ▪ Activate your email at google. Maricopa. edu once registered.
