ADTObs Box Post Mortem Post Mortem ADTObs Box
ADTObs. Box - Post. Mortem • Post Mortem ADTObs. Box buffers allow the last 64 k turns to be acquired for bunch-by-bunch turn-by-turn. • Took some time for correct triggering to be setup (could not use buffers directly) , have data for fills 5965 then all fills thereafter with about 4/12 from before. • All data acquired was at flat top, unfortunately missed dataset at injection energy. • Shown right is one typical case which is seen in some fills but not all. What is shown is the FFT of the last 32 turns minus the FFT of the 32 turns before that, then taking the maximum value. As can be seen, there is some activity on some bunches of B 2 H which is the plane of the dump. •
ADTObs. Box - Post. Mortem • • • Can plot most active bunches vs time after filtering out all low frequency information. Some small increase in amplitude can be seen approaching 30 um. Most are smaller than that. Still to be done: • SVD attempt to determine if coupled bunch. • Repeat this analysis for all 16 L 2 dumps to see if systematic. Dump
ADTObs. Box • • Post Mortem data is now being reliably saved from the ADTObs. Box for all fills. Currently stored on /eos/project/a/abpdata/lhc/instabilities/16 L 2 • Quick reminder: We an MD 2 starting at 10 pm tonight. Current plan is to perform instability threshold measurements with 144 b, before spending the rest of the time doing emittance exchange with linear coupling. • The 144 b ramp could be modified if necessary. However might be better to wait until (Davide has some possible tests in his slides).
