NEIS: Current Status � Average at diagnosis: 28 months ◦ Down from 36 months in FY 13 and 30 months in FY 14 ◦ Ages ranged from 18 months to 42 months ◦ All children who meet criteria receive a medical diagnosis � 47 active children with autism
NEIS: Planned Changes � ESDM will be used for children with any behavioral concerns ◦ Families of children with more significant concerns will be offered additional focused parent training � Once a diagnosis of Autism occurs: ◦ Child is assigned a BCBA for development and implementation of a behavioral plan � Once they near Age 3 we work to transition to ATAP and/or Developmental Services
NEIS: Progress � Contracting staff to provide ESDM training to NEIS ◦ Trainings are for about 100 staff at a time and will be offered North/South and include community partners � Hiring more behavioral aids � Contracting with UNR to supplement current services with psychiatric fellows � Hiring more bachelor’s level behavioral consultants
