ADN Program Pre-Admission Assessment Testing TEAS V
BACKGROUND �California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office began to require pre-admission assessment testing prior to Associate Degree Nursing program enrollment beginning in 2008.
NAPA VALLEY COLLEGE ACCEPTS: TEAS version V in a computer administered format. Minimum passing score is 62.
IMPORTANT! Beginning January 1, 2012: All persons must pass the TEAS V with a minimum score of 62 before applying and admission to the Associate Degree Nursing program. Maximum number of allowable attempts is 3.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR THE EXAM? �DO NOT attempt the TEAS V without studying the material! (ATI recommends a minimum of 58 hours of study before attempting the exam. ) �Use the TEAS V Study Manual available for purchase on ATI’s website. �You may consider purchasing the study package that contains the Study Manual and two online practice exams.
WHERE DO I TAKE THE EXAM? �You may take the TEAS V exam at any of the approved ATI testing locations listed on their website. Transcript results must then be sent to Napa Valley College by ATI. �To find current testing locations go to Assessment Technologies Institute Website: www. atitesting. com. WHAT IF I DON’T ACHIEVE THE MINIMUM SCORE? �If you do not achieve a minimum passing score of 62 on the TEAS V exam, you are strongly encouraged to study with the online TEAS V Focused Review and complete additional coursework, as needed. �Maximum number of allowable attempts is 3. �Click here to find out “How to Build a Focused Review” for remediation after testing.
