Adesione e giunzioni cellulari 2016

Fixing of epithelial cells to the basal membrane
These diagrams show the effect of plectin deficiency on hemidesmosomes, the structures that attach the basal cells of the laminae to the basement membrane, to which both sets of laminae adhere. Without plectin to anchor them together, several structures that are essential to the integrity of this complex can't attach, and thus the hemidesmosome disintegrates.
