PHILEO VS. AGAPE Agape is used much more in the New Testament Phileo is used much more in classic Greek Phileo primarily refers to intimate affection / liking to do that which is pleasant / friendship Phileo and Agape should not be strongly separated (for example – I Thes. 4: 9)
