Purposes of Instructional Probes Ø Moving from reactive data (WESTEST 2) to proactive data (Acuity) Ø Data-driven instruction at Core, Target, and Intensive levels Ø Effective and efficient teaching practices Ø Independent or collaborative data analysis
Uses of Instructional Probes Core: Classroom assessments; Bell-ringers; Classroom instruction v. Details class-wide student mastery of specific grade level CSOs Ø Use before, during, and after instruction Ø Use data to provide differentiated instruction
Uses of Instructional Probes Targeted: Small group assessments on targeted CSOs v Details individual student mastery of specific, grade level CSO or identifies the missing prerequisite skill Ø Use data to provide scaffolded instruction Ø Monitor progress by reassessing with the multiple forms
