MENTOR PROGRAM • Build community within our club • Help others learn more about actuarial science • Build a broader network QUALIFICATIONS TO BECOME A MENTOR • ONE OF THE FOLLOWING BELOW • At least one actuarial exams passed • At least one actuarial internship • At least one year as a member of the club Mentor program will begin towards the end of September
RESUME BOOK PROGRAM • Following the resume workshop (9 -13), we will be making a book of the club members’ resumes. • For your resume to be included you must pay dues to the club. • This resume book will be sent out to each company before their visit so they can set up interviews for full time and internship positions.

COMPANY VISITS • Company visits are a chance for students to get a first-hand look into some of the various firms that hire actuaries. • You will be able to network with other actuaries in the field, learn about the actuarial profession, gain tips to success within their career path, and find potential internships/full-time opportunities. • This year there are 12 scheduled company visits and all of them are posted on our website.
EXPECTATIONS FOR COMPANY VISITS • You should expect to understand what type of work they do • Consulting, insurance, P&C, life, SOA, CAS, etc • You should be able to get a better idea of whether you can see yourself working for this company • ASK QUESTIONS!!! • The more you seem interested in the company, the more they will be interested in you.
WHAT COMPANIES EXPECT OF US • They want open minds and a desire to learn about them • They want students that will come ready with questions • Attentive listeners who are engaged in the discussion and looking forward to what they hear
COMING PREPARED • Come dressed to impress • Business formal or business casual • Resumes • Even though we give companies the resume book beforehand, it is still a good idea to bring a few extra copies and personally hand them your resume after the meeting to show them that you are interested in working for them • Bring a positive attitude
