Acts 3: 1. . . (a) Now Peter and John went up together to

Acts 3: 1. . . (a) Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Peter and John. The two disciples that were very close to Jesus when he walked in this earth. Luke 5: 10. . . “ Matthew 4: 18 -21. . . Matthew 17: 1. . . “ Luke 22: 8. . . “ John 20: 3, 4. . . “

Acts 3: 1. . . (b) 1 Now Peter and John went up together

Acts 3: 1. . . (b) 1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. Again my question is: Why the temple? They went there to PRAY! Can they pray at home with the rest of the brethern?

Acts 3: 1. . . (c) 1 Now Peter and John went up together

Acts 3: 1. . . (c) 1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. What is the Nineth hours in our days'.

Acts 3: 2. . . (a) And a certain man lame from his mother's

Acts 3: 2. . . (a) And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; Paralytic or lame for how many years? Over 40 years. Acts 4: 22. Everyone knew about him. (Verse 10)

Acts 3: 2. . . (b) And a certain man lame from his mother's

Acts 3: 2. . . (b) And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; This was a large and beautiful entrance unto the temple… A very good place to wait for the religious and ask for Alms.

Acts 3: 3. . . (a) Who, seeing Peter and John about to go

Acts 3: 3. . . (a) Who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms. When this man who was born lame saw Peter and John about to enter the temple, he asked them for a gift of charity. Acts 10: 1 -3…

Acts 3: 4. . . (a) And fixing his eyes on him, with John,

Acts 3: 4. . . (a) And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us. " Fixing his eyes on him. We don’t know how many times Peter and John and the other disciples has seen this man begging at the door but today is the days of salvation, before they were not prepared… now they are. Look at you…Why?

Acts 3: 5. . . (a) So he gave them his attention, expecting to

Acts 3: 5. . . (a) So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. Peter’s word did catch the man’s attention, and he did in fact rivet his full attention on them… The man gives or pays attention to the words of Peter and John and he probably thought “I will go home with a supper for sure. ” So he gave them his attention. Luke is very specific when he says that the man was expecting to receive something from them.

Acts 3: 6. . . (a) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do

Acts 3: 6. . . (a) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. " Silver and Gold I do not have! Acts Can you imagine the man’s face when he heard that? The beggar was expecting money, not healing, nothing in the text even hinted at the idea that prior to this occasion this man had faith in Jesus much less “faith to be healed”

Acts 3: 6. . . (b) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do

Acts 3: 6. . . (b) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. " “But what I have I give you…” What do you have Peter? When we trust and obey Jesus he is ours and we are His. Peter was completely sure about that. What I do have I give you… Can we talk like that?

Acts 3: 6. . . (c) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do

Acts 3: 6. . . (c) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. " In the NAME ONOMA= Authority Jesus authorized us to Ask and He will give unto us the things that we need… Matthew 17: 20… “ John 14: 13… “ John 16: 24… “ Ephesians 1: 19… “ Ephesians 3: 20… “

Acts 3: 6. . . (d) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do

Acts 3: 6. . . (d) Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. " Jesus of Nazareth, a very common name, Jesus was well known by many in those days and Peter is making sure that His name is pronounced first before anything else!

Acts 3: 7. . . (a) And he took him by the right hand

Acts 3: 7. . . (a) And he took him by the right hand lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. This is one hundred percent a MIRACLE! To encourage the man, Peter took him by the right hand. This is also to show him that promise “but what I have a give you”. He is helping the man. In another occasion Jesus took Peter mother in law right hand to heal her from fever…Mark 1: 31…

Acts 3: 7. . . (b) And he took him by the right hand

Acts 3: 7. . . (b) And he took him by the right hand lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. IMMEDIATELY! and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. The miracle was instant, no time to wait, no recovery time, no we’ll see…Luke says that the man’s feet and ankles receive strength… After so many years without exercise this man was completely lame, but now everything is working normal again.

Acts 3: 8. . . (a) So he, leaping up, stood and walked and

Acts 3: 8. . . (a) So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-walking, leaping, and praising God. Please notice that this man was born like this from his mother’s womb but as soon Peter commanded him to rise up, he did not learn to walk but was walking immediately, instantly.

Acts 3: 8. . . (b) So he, leaping up, stood and walked and

Acts 3: 8. . . (b) So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them-walking, leaping, and praising God. I also noticed that instead of going home to celebrate with his family he entered the temple with the disciples. He was not PRAISING PETER OR JOHN BUT GOD!

Acts 3: 9. . . (a) And all the people saw him walking and

Acts 3: 9. . . (a) And all the people saw him walking and praising God. This was exactly the purpose of the miracles in the New Testament. So people can glorify God. That was the real purpose. The New Testament was not written yet, so they need to convince people about God’s power through this sign…

Acts 3: 10. . . (a) Then they knew that it was he who

Acts 3: 10. . . (a) Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him. Real Miracles produce true believers, fake miracles produce mockers. This is exactly what is happening now days, the word of the Lord has been subject to mockery due to the fact that many mockers or miracle healers have gone out into the world, when the miracle that they are performing fail, people make fun of God and His word.

Acts 3: 11. . . (a) Now as the lame man who was healed

Acts 3: 11. . . (a) Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. The lame man does not want to go away, He knows now that what Peter Told him about Gold and Silver was true, Peter says: I do not have…But What I have I give to you…Amazing, simply amazing, he was expecting some alms but he received his legs. Many believe that the lame man is holding unto the apostles because he is not one hundred percent cured… ?

Acts 3: 11. . . (b) Now as the lame man who was healed

Acts 3: 11. . . (b) Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. Notice please that Luke mentions that “all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed… They are moving from the temple gate unto the porch of Solomon’s, perhaps a bigger place where Peter can talk to all of them…

Acts 3: 11. . . (c) Now as the lame man who was healed

Acts 3: 11. . . (c) Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. Why, This is not the first time that they see this? Remember what the Bible declared about this incident? When Jesus came this was one of his missions. Isaiah 63: 7… “ Luke 7: 22… “ Matthew 11: 5… “ Isaiah 35: 6… “

Acts 3: 11. . . (d) Now as the lame man who was healed

Acts 3: 11. . . (d) Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. When we show that God works in us, people are always amazed, this case is not the exception, they are amazed to see this man after so many years now walk with the apostles. Matthew 5: 16… “ 1 Thessalonians 1: 8… “ 1 Peter 3: 15… “

Acts 3: 12. . . (a) So when Peter saw it, he responded to

Acts 3: 12. . . (a) So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? Saw what? The amazement! The people running and trying to be closer to them to see the lam man. The people knew beyond question that the cripple beggar had been healed. They had known him to be a cripple for over 40 years; he had never walked… Acts 4: 22.

Acts 3: 12. . . (b) So when Peter saw it, he responded to

Acts 3: 12. . . (b) So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? They want an explanation. Now it’s up to Peter to grasp the opportunity. They move to a bigger place because Peter has in mind only one thing: To preach God’s word unto all. Man of Israel, that is: All Jews, men and women.

Acts 3: 12. . . (c) So when Peter saw it, he responded to

Acts 3: 12. . . (c) So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? Why do you marvel at this? Miracles should not surprise or puzzle man, for God is God. Jesus performed many miracles that even his enemies the Bible declares were astonish! The reason for Peter to ask them: Why do you marvel at this, is because this is not the first time…This is not new, they are stiff neck this is the real truth they don’t believe! Matthew 9: 6… “ Matthew 28: 18… “ Luke 8: 25… “ John 17: 2… “ Acts 10: 38… “ Romans 1: 4… “

Acts 3: 12. . . (d) So when Peter saw it, he responded to

Acts 3: 12. . . (d) So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? Who is the one talking right now? Peter! The same who wanted a position in the new Kingdom of Jesus. Mark 9: 34…

Acts 3: 13. . . (a) The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the

Acts 3: 13. . . (a) The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers. Exodus 3: 6, 15 1 King 18: 36; 1 Chronicles 29: 18; Matthew 22: 32 Are they alive at this point or dead? They are dead! But God always speaks of them as if they were alive!

Acts 3: 13. . . (b) The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the

Acts 3: 13. . . (b) The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. God always glorified His Son. Jesus prayed to God at one point and said: John 17: 1, 2… “ 1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2“as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as You have given Him.

Acts 3: 13. . . (c) The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. Mathew 27: 22, 23 Luke 23: 4, 15, 22 John 18: 38 John 19: 4, 6. Luke 23: 13 -22.

Acts 3: 14. . . (a) “But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, Just and Holy One! This is exactly what Jesus is, was and will be… Isaiah 53: 11… John 8: 46… 2 Corinthians 5: 21… Hebrews 4: 15… Hebrews 7: 26… 1 Peter 1: 19… 1 John 3: 5…

Acts 3: 14. . . (b) “But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, Who is the murderer that Peter is referring to? BARABBAS! Matthew 27: 16 -21… Mark 15: 11… Luke 23: 18… John 18: 40…

What Peter is saying right now is striking news: Every man even now days

What Peter is saying right now is striking news: Every man even now days that reject Jesus is choosing men and their ways over the sinless Son of God and His Ways. The unbeliever chooses… Sin over holiness… Unrighteousness over righteousness. Sinful and murdering man over the wholly and loving Lord. Corruption over incorruption. Death over Life.

Acts 3: 15. . . (a) 15“and killed the Prince of life, whom God

Acts 3: 15. . . (a) 15“and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. Peter is claiming with out a doubt that Jesus is the “prince of Life”. The word “prince” that Peter is using means in the Greek: Originator, pioneer, or beginner of something. Hebrews 2: 10… “ Hebrews 12: 2… “ Acts Was Jesus the prince of “LIFE”? Psalm 39: 6… “ Hebrews 2: 10… “ Hebrews 12: 2… “ 1 John 5: 11, 20… “

Acts 3: 15. . . (b) 15“and killed the Prince of life, whom God

Acts 3: 15. . . (b) 15“and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. The Father raises His son from death. Peter declares that he and John are witnesses of that. John later remembers the same thing when he declares that they were real witnesses of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. 1 John 1: 1 -4… “

Acts 3: 16. . . (a) 16“And His name, through faith in His name,

Acts 3: 16. . . (a) 16“And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Notice please the repetition of the Name in this verse. And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. So The did the Lame man have faith? The healing came on the ground of Faith on Jesus for who He is. But in this case it was not his faith as such that brought the healing. It was the Name, that is the fact that Jesus is true to His Name.

Acts 3: 16. . . (b) 16“And His name, through faith in His name,

Acts 3: 16. . . (b) 16“And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. So what is the Faith in His name in here? Did Peter have Faith? Matthew 17: 20… “ Mark 16: 14… “ Mark 16: 17 -18… “ John 14: 13… “ John 15: 16… “ John 16: 23… “ Ephesians 5: 20… “

Acts 3: 16. . . (c) 16“And His name, through faith in His name,

Acts 3: 16. . . (c) 16“And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. I would never deny that Peter had faith… My point is: God can do whatever that He want with or without our help. He is God. Does God need faith from us? Hebrews 11: 6… “

Acts 3: 17. . . (a) 17“Yet now, brethren, I know that you did

Acts 3: 17. . . (a) 17“Yet now, brethren, I know that you did it in ignorance, as did also your rulers. Can we sin in ignorance? 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. ” And they divided His garments and cast lots. Luke 23: 34. Paul recognized that he did many things in ignorance. 1 Timothy 1: 13…

Acts 3: 18. . . (a) 18“But those things which God foretold by the

Acts 3: 18. . . (a) 18“But those things which God foretold by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled. Which prophets? Genesis 3: 15… “ Psalms 22: 1 -2… “ Isaiah 53: 3, 4… “ Zechariah 12: 10… “ Jesus applied many things for himself that were written in the Old Testament, all the prophets spoke about Him, keep in mind that Jesus was the center of all the prophetic scriptures that they wrote.

Acts 3: 19. . . (a) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins

Acts 3: 19. . . (a) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Because of what you did, because you killed Jesus and even though you did it in ignorance, REPENT! There is no excuse for sin. Repent= From the Greek word Metanoeo This repentance is the same that he commanded in Acts 2: 38… In order for them to be forgiven Peter recommends two things: Repent and be converted…To be converted is to turn completely to God it is a 180˚ turn. Men must turn again to God.

Acts 3: 19. . . (b) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins

Acts 3: 19. . . (b) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, If a man turns his life over to God and changes his behavior, two things happen: 1) His sins are “blotted Out”…This is equal to Erase, smear out, rub off, wipe out, Psalms 51: 9… “ Isaiah 43: 25… “ Isaiah 44: 22… “

Acts 3: 19. . . (c) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins

Acts 3: 19. . . (c) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, The Lord will send “seasons of refreshing” or Times. When a person comes to know Christ personally he experiences seasons: Of refreshment and renewal. Of grace and blessings. Of rest and comfort. Of release and deliverance. Of joy and rejoicing. Of revival and stirrings. Of strength and commitment.

Acts 3: 19. . . (d) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins

Acts 3: 19. . . (d) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, Repentance is an absolute forgiveness. A person just cannot continue and continue doing the same old things and expected forgiveness. He must repent, turn away from his sins to Christ. If a person is sincere he will repent. Matthew 3: 2… But what exactly are those times of refreshing? Those are the days that “ Acts 2: 38… “ Lord Jesus spoke of when he says: Acts 8: 22… “ Acts 17: 30… “ Isaiah 55: 7… “

Acts 3: 20. . . (a) “and that He may send Jesus Christ, who

Acts 3: 20. . . (a) “and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, We noted two things that will happen in verse 19… 1. Our Sins will be blotted out, 2. And Times of Refreshing will come from the presence of God… Verse 20 says: And that he may send Jesus Christ. This is the third promise that is connected with verse 19… If we repent and convert unto God, he will give us Jesus

Acts 3: 21. . . (a) “whom heaven must receive until the times of

Acts 3: 21. . . (a) “whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Then God will wait until the restoration of all things, what things? For all the Jewish listeners “The restoration of all things” was a messianic ‘terminology’ When the messiah came, he would make all things right. The idea is that all the prophesies from the Old Testament will be fulfilled, right now is the time when some prophecies are being fulfilled.

Acts 3: 21. . . (b) whom heaven must receive until the times of

Acts 3: 21. . . (b) whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. Many believe that “the restoration of all things” is making reference that Jesus will make from this world a paradise that one day he will inhabit, many believe that this is a reference to an earthly paradise. Verse 21 does not give any room for this interpretation. Second part of verse 21 is connected with the first part: Peter says, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began this is the ‘restoration’.

Acts 3: 22. . . (a) “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The

Acts 3: 22. . . (a) “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. Peter has been mentioning several prophets, now he will mention some by name starting with Moses. Again please keep in mind that in the Jew’s mind the messiah will come in the likeness of Moses according to this prophecy, this scripture is well known by them because is taken from the book of:

Acts 3: 22. . . (b) “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The

Acts 3: 22. . . (b) “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. Peter is mentioning Moses so that they can understand that God commanded all of them to listen to this prophet and those refusing to obey will be killed!

Acts 3: 22. . . (c) “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The

Acts 3: 22. . . (c) “For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. Can you see the name of Joseph Smith in here? The Mormons claim that this man was the prophet that Moses spoke of in the book of Deuteronomy. I would say that is a blasphemy to apply this prophecy to some body with a lifestyle like Joseph Smith.

Acts 3: 22. . . (d) For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The

Acts 3: 22. . . (d) For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to The Jews were waiting for this prophet and for this day, in many occasions all the prophets announced unto them the Messiah: Moses said: The Lord your God will rise up a prophet like me from your brethren… Many asked Jesus when He came: Are you the prophet? They knew that He would come but they did not know who he will be.

Acts 3: 22. . . (e) For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The

Acts 3: 22. . . (e) For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to When Jesus was baptized, the Father gave this same testimony when He said: Matthew 17: 5… “ Many listened to this prophet, but many refused to hear him.

Acts 3: 23. . . (a) 23‘And it shall be that every soul who

Acts 3: 23. . . (a) 23‘And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people It will be up to all of them to obey or disobey this new prophet that the Lord will bring unto them. Every person from among them with complete understanding will have the responsibility to listen to the new prophet, there will be no more excuses. This quote from Moses is taken from the books of: In this passages Moses warning the people that they will be cut off if they did not receive and obey this prophet.

Acts 3: 23. . . (b) 23‘And it shall be that every soul who

Acts 3: 23. . . (b) 23‘And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people He says that the person who rejects the prophet will be “destroyed”. This is the idea of being utterly destroyed or slayed; is to lose one’s well being; to be wasted and ruined and given a worthless existence. This idea does not mean that the person will cease to exist. It means that the person will spend his entire eternity in hell. Matthew 25: 46. Mark 3: 29. Luke 3: 17. Romans 2: 8 -9. 2 Thessalonians 1: 7 -9. Hebrews 10: 29 -30. 2 Peter 2: 9. Revelation 20: 15. Revelation 21: 8.

Acts 3: 24. . . (a) “Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and

Acts 3: 24. . . (a) “Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days Peter will pass right now some information that we all need to know and this is that of all the prophets, he mentioned one: that is Samuel. Was Samuel a prophet? I though he was a priest! Well this man is called prophet in the Old Testament. 1 Samuel 3: 20… Samuel was the next great prophet after Moses. But one question please: Did Samuel prophesy about the messiah? No, we don’t have any evidence but what we know is that he anointed David as king and speaks of his kingdom. 1 Samuel 13: 14. 1 Samuel 15: 28. 1 Samuel 16: 13. 1 Samuel 28: 17.

Acts 3: 25. . . (a) “You are sons of the prophets, and of

Acts 3: 25. . . (a) “You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed. ’ 1. They were the children of the prophets. They had the glorious heritage and message of God’s very special servant. 2. They were the people with whom God made a very special covenant, a very special promise. He chose them to be the people and the race through whom He would send “the seed” that is, His Son, into the world. 3. They were the people to whom God sent His Son, Jesus Christ. 4. They were the first people who were blessed by God, blessed with the glorious message of repentance and forgiveness. Genesis 22: 18. Galatians 3: 14 -16. John 1: 10 -12…

Acts 3: 26. . . (a) “To you first, God, having raised up His

Acts 3: 26. . . (a) “To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities. ” God was expecting from them changes, a different lifestyle worthy of repentance. He came so that they can receive forgiveness for their iniquities. They did not change! They had a great responsibility and they missed it. Listen to the Bible speaking about them please! Romans 1: 16. Romans 2: 9, 10. Romans 3: 1 -2.
