Acts 8: 26 -39 26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Go south to the road–the desert road– that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. ”

Acts 8: 26 -39 30 Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading? ” Philip asked.

Acts 8: 26 -39 31“How can I, ” he said, “unless someone explains it to me? ” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

Acts 8: 26 -39 37“If you believe with all your heart, you may. ” The eunuch answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ”

Acts 8: 26 -39 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing.

OUR GOD WORKS UPSTREAM! Very Few Really Seek GOD

30 Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading? " 31 And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me? " And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him. (Acts 8: 30 -31)

II. God’s Word Can Be Understood By Those Who Seek Him Acts 8: 32 -33 Isaiah 53: 7 -8 7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to

slaughter, and like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, so He did not open His mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who considered that He was cut off out of the land of the living for the transgression of my people, to whom the stroke [was due]?

34 The eunuch answered Philip and said, "Please [tell me], of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else? " 35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture he preached Jesus to him. (Acts 8: 34 -35)

He taught him what he did not know and had never heard.

III. The Message Is Jesus! • Not us, • Not the church, • Not a program. . .

or we lose.

It’s all about Jesus or we lose. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved… (Mark 16: 16 a)

And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may. " And he answered and said, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. " (Acts 8: 37)

That if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10: 9)

And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. (Acts 8: 38)

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing. (Acts 8: 39)
