ACTIVITY SHEET – KEEPING CLEAN w/c Jan 25 th 1. Keeping our bodies clean

ACTIVITY SHEET – KEEPING CLEAN w/c Jan 25 th 1. Keeping our bodies clean is an important part of staying healthy. Have a look at the power-point on Personal Hygiene and then look at this link to BBC bitesize. Afterwards have a look at the pictures underneath and see if you can draw yourself and label all the things you can do to keep yourself clean. 2. We have been learning how to add on one more. Now we are going to look at one less or take away 1. Have a look at the Oak Academy lesson on this link and join in the activities. 3. To help keep ourselves clean it is also really important that we look after our teeth. Where do we go to have our teeth checked? Have you ever been to the dentist? Have a look at this power-point about why our teeth are so important. Can you cut out the sequencing pictures of visiting the dentist and talk to your grown up about what is happening in each picture. Try to use full sentences when you talk. 4. Do you know how many teeth you have? Can you count them? There is a picture to help you. Do you know how many a grown-up has? Is that more or less? When you brush your teeth you should keep brushing for two minutes. Do you know how long that is? Ask a grown up to start a timer and see if you can guess correctly by shouting stop when you think 2 minutes is up. 5. Have you ever seen a tally chart? Can you fill in the chart every time you do something to keep clean this week. Remember to mark four 1 s and then strike through them for number 5. Which thing did you do the most? Which did you do the least? 6. PLAY PAIRS. Cut out the attached keeping clean cards. Turn them over and lay them out on the table or floor. Then take it in turns to turn over 2 and see if you can find a matching pair. Make sure you always put the wrong ones back in the same place. If you match a pair you get to keep them. The winner has the most pairs. 7. We have all heard about the importance of washing our hands, but as a reminder listen to this song. Can you retell those instructions to a grown up? Can you draw pictures of them and number them? 8. W is for wash. Can you practise the healthy teeth writing patterns and then have a go at writing ten each of the following letters: w, v, x and z. 9. Do you know the nursery rhyme – Here we go round the mulberry bush? How many different verses can you think of about keeping yourself clean? These two nursery rhymes will also help with taking away one – 10 green bottles and 10 fat sausages. Could you make up some actions for them? 10. Do you know how quickly germs can spread? Try making your own germs by dropping some different colours of washable water colour paint in blobs and then blowing them with a straw, just like you blow out a germ from your mouth when you cough or sneeze. See how far the paint travels. A germ can travel like that too. You can add eyes to your germs when they have dried. Then admire your wonderful germ picture.
